Elzanne is a Director at Minde Schapiro & Smith Inc. who specialises in administrative law, public interest law and local government/municipal litigation.
She has played an instrumental role in many high-profile Constitutional Court cases where ground-breaking constitutional issues were addressed.
Elzanne joined the firm in 2002 as a Candidate Legal Practitioner, after graduating with BA and LLB degrees from the University of Stellenbosch in 2001. She was admitted as an attorney and a notary public in 2004 and as a conveyancer in 2007. Elzanne served on the Tygerberg Attorneys Association for five years, as well as the Cape Law Society Magistrates’ Court Committee. In addition, she has continued to serve as a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court since 2010 and is also a lecturer to candidate legal practitioners for Magistrates’ Court Practice, on behalf of Legal Education and Development.
In her spare time, as a married mother of three Elzanne loves to spend time with her family and friends.
