Shayne studied at the University of the Western Cape, where he obtained both his LLB and LLM degrees, driven by a growing interest in and passion for corporate law.

During his time at university, he was actively involved in a range of extracurricular initiatives. These included serving as a student mentor, participating in Street Law programmes and working as a student research assistant. In this role, he contributed to projects focused on upskilling abused women and children, as well as domestic workers, reflecting a strong commitment to community upliftment and social justice.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Shayne maintains an active lifestyle. He has a particular passion for football and also enjoys hiking and running.
